Ni Hao Kai-lan Cupcakes

So Aly was watching Nick Jr. one day (actually it is everyday, but what do you do!?) and she saw them making Dora cupcakes. She wanted to do it really bad. So I went on Nick Jr.'s website and saw they had a Ni Hao Kai-lan recipe too. Since Aly likes Kai-lan better than she likes Dora, I told her about them, so she wanted to do them instead. So today, we went to Wal-mart to get all the stuff to make them. I thought it would be fun to do a project with her. It is better than having her watch TV all day.

Here she is frosting her cupcake. She did a good job too! Here she is with the first cupcake that was done. It is Kai-lan......I promise it looked better on the website! It doesn't really look like Kai-lan, but oh well! This is about where Aly stopped being interested, so I had to finish the rest of them by myself. I didn't think it would take so long (from start to finish, it was about 3 hours for all of them!!!) So she was tired of doing them before we even finished Kai-lan! :)

Here is Rintoo. Again, it looked better on the website, but I also think my version looks a little better than my Kai-lan does! LOLThen we made Tolee. This is the one that I think turned out the best. It actually looks kind of like him! Last was Hoho. I think it turned out totally dorky, but Aly liked it, so that's all that matters. Here are all of them together.

Aly thought they looked yummy! She was ready to eat them before they were even done! She is trying to sneak a bite! LOL Here are all 24 of them. I have never spent so much time frosting cupcakes! Brianna had other arrangements while we were making cupcakes! She had already made plans with her crib. LOL So she napped the whole time, which is actually okay because I have a feeling it would have taken longer if she was awake. Either that or I would have had a disaster of a house to clean up after! But, she did enjoy the frosting when she woke up! She is NEVER too tired when it comes to eating! LOL (It was actually a bigger mess than this picture looks. The frosting was in her hair, all over her clothes, and on her legs!)I had a blast doing this with Aly, even though it was mostly me at the end! I love spending time with my girls! They are the best girls in the world! It is so fun to spend Mommy-daughter time with them!

I found my dream house!!

And it is actually realistic. If it was my DREAM, dream house, it would be a mansion on the beach, but I am actually being realistic about this!

It is in Riverton. 4625 sq. ft. 5 bedrooms 4 bathrooms $290,000. And not only that, but everthing is layed out how I want it to be. The bedrooms, bathrooms and even the laundry room is EXACTLY where I would want it if I were designing it myself! Oh Yeah! It is also in a community so I would have access to the pool and the clubhouse. And HOA fees are only $20 a month!!!

Here is the link if you really care. http://www.utahrealestate.com/930601

So, now I found it, I just have to buy it. The problems are going to be, selling my house, and convincing my husband that it is the RIGHT thing to do!!!

I have to have this house!!! I am afraid I will never find one that is so close to EXACTLY what I want!

So, please help me!!! Either convince Joe that this is a good idea, or convince me that it isn't! I dare you to try either one! LOL!

Princesses, rides and a day at the beach

We just got back from a quick trip to Disneyland! It was extremely fun, but extremely short. We had so much fun this time. (Not that we didn't have fun before) We bought Aly a princess dress to wear while we were there. If you are taking a kid to Disneyland, especially a girl, I would highly recommend buying them a dress (or something for a boy....Woody...Buzz?) to wear. Aly got so much extra attention this time. I thought there were more girls wearing them, but there aren't that many. The cast members were constantly saying things like, "Hi princess" or "Your carriage awaits" (When we got on one of the rides.)

Anyway, we flew in on Thursday and just took it easy that day. We went to Downtown Disney and went swimming. It was very relaxing and we needed relaxing because although our flight was only an hour and a half, Brianna did not do well on it. I forgot to bring a bottle so that was part of the reason, but most of it is that she really doesn't like being held and of course we had to hold her the whole time. She is too much of a busy body to sit still for that long. So needless to say, she was NOT happy!

Then on Friday and Saturday, we went to Disneyland. Here is Aly excited to be there! When we took this picture, we were in line for Monsters Inc. and that is her favorite ride, so she was ALL smiles! Here is Brianna with Cody's "stunna's" on. She loves having sunglasses on. It is so funny when you put them on her, she doesn't smile, she has this serious look on her face. It's almost like she is saying "Dude! Waz up?!" Here is Aly in the "A" outside California Adventure. So we bought Aly an autograph book to take with her this time. I don't know if she really understood what it was all about, but hopefully one day she will like it. Brianna was so amused by the characters. She would just stare at them! Even the princesses!

Here is Goofy!
And Sully!

Aly got to see Cinderella twice, which is good because she LOVES Cinderella.
Ariel.

Jasmine

Pocahontas

Snow White
(NOTE: The only reason I am in some of these pictures is because we wanted Brianna to be in them too and since she won't walk or stand by herself, I had to take her up there! LOL)
Tinkerbell
There is a princess show, where they show little girls and boys how to be princesses and princes. So they teach them to bow and curtsy and how to dance. Aly had so much fun. This picture is at that show and she is with Lady Elise. Lady Elise clung to Aly through the whole show. She would really only pay attention to her. It was so cute and Aly had fun. Ever since that show, every time she waves, it is always like a princess! LOL
Here are my little princesses! (Neither of them would smile)

Not only did we see lots of characters, we got to go on lots of rides. Here is Brianna on Small World.

They also had a Princess Tiana (Princess and the Frog) show. Aly got to go up and dance with them and play with a tambourine. (Good thing she had her princess dancing lessons! LOL)
Then we saw Mickey! Brianna LOVED him!! She was totally fascinated by his nose. She kept grabbing it and playing with it. It was so cute.

Family photo! Notice I have to hold Brianna's hand back so she doesn't grab Mickey's nose while we are taking the picture.

Here is Aly in front of the princess castle.

Sunday was our last day there. We had a late flight out so we rented a car and went to the beach for the day. Joe wasn't paying attention when they asked what car he wanted and all he heard was a Nissan or a Toyota. So he told them he wanted the Nissan. When we got out to it, this is what we saw!!
HAHAHAHAHA! It was a Nissan Cube. Basically it looks like a box on wheels!! LOL It was so funny! So we drove this around all day. (Joe actually started liking it!) It was a pretty nice car, just funny looking!

We walked down the pier and had lunch at a diner at the end of the pier. It was fun and relaxing.
On the flight home, I remembered a bottle for Brianna, but she still didn't like the fact that we had to hold her the whole time, so she was still fussy! And of course we sat right behind some people that live across the street from my mom, so I hope they don't hate us now!! Sorry guys!
It was a great vacation, but too short! Thank you to my family for inviting us to come along! We had so much fun!

Happy 4th of July......or 3rd!!!

On July 2nd, we did fireworks at our house, just the cheap LEGAL stuff! LOL! Joe had to work on the 3rd so he wasn't able to go with us to all the festivities, so I wanted him to at least enjoy this! Aly and Brianna enjoyed them, but Joe and I thought they were pretty lame. But as long as the girls had fun, that is all that matters! Here is Aly watching them. (Sorry these pictures aren't the best quality, I forgot my camera so they were all taken on my phone.)Then on July 3rd, we did all the usual 4th of July stuff. First we went to the West Jordan City parade. Aly loved seeing all the "princesses". She would wave to them all and LOVE it if they waved back. I can't wait to take her to Disneyland this week so she can see the REAL princesses again! She also had fun getting all the candy!Brianna also enjoyed the parade! She watched it for a pretty long time before getting bored of it. I also learned that she is a major animal lover! Everytime a horse would come by, she would get really excited and start pointing to it and bouncing up and down. After the parade, we went to the carnival. They had a petting zoo there. Mostly it was goats, but they also had a pig, a turtle, some sheep, a llama and a rabbit. We took the girls in there and at first Aly was nervous to touch them. Then I showed her that I was touching the turtle and told her it felt like a rock, so she tried it. After that, she would touch all the animals, but only for a second. (Sorry, I don't have any pictures of the petting zoo!) Brianna, on the other hand, LOVED the petting zoo! (Remember what I said about her being an animal lover?!) She not only would pet them, but she went up to the baby goat and was snuggling it and hugging it! She did that with all of the animals, but I think the baby goat was her favorite because it was just her size. It was so cute!!

Then the girls went on the pony ride. Aly asked me as soon as we walked into the carnival if she could go on the pony, and of course Brianna just got excited when she saw them. So my dad paid for them both to go on them. They had a blast. I was afraid Aly wouldn't want to go by herself, but she did great! She had so much fun and so did Brianna. Here they are on the ponies! Here is Aly on the pony all by herself!!!!Brianna had so much fun!Thank you Papa for taking the girls on the ponies, they had so much fun!!!!

After that, I took Aly on the bounce houses. The one she went on was shaped like a castle, and since she is major into princesses, she HAD to play on the castle! She had a good time!Lastly, we went to the fireworks in Sandy. Aly and Brianna were glued to them. They did not take their eyes off of them the whole time. Even if you would try to talk to them, they would not pay attention to you. I know it looks like Brianna is sleeping in this picture, but she is actually fixed on the fireworks. (Maybe she bliked when I took the picture!) She did end up falling asleep before they were over. She was exhausted from a busy, busy day!!! We had so much fun today! I love spending time with my family! And even though I have always loved holidays, it is SO much better when you have kids of your own! It is so fun to watch how excited they get. I would have to say it is even better than when you are a kid yourself!!! Thank you to my family for sharing in this fun day!!!

Feeding the ducks.....or was it the fish?!?

So today, we took the girls to feed the ducks in Springville. The only problem was, we didn't go until about 5pm and I think the ducks had been fed ALL day becuase when we got there, they weren't eating very well. But we had fun anyway. At first, Brianna just thought I was giving her the bread to eat it. She wouldn't throw it, even when I showed her what to do, but after a while of seeing Aly do it, she finally figured it out. She would break off peices and pretty much just drop them. So by the time we were finished, there was a big pile of bread right under our feet! Then Brianna tried to just hand it to the ducks. When she is handing something to someone, she holds it out and kind of grunts, like "uh, uh, uh" So she was doing the same thing to the ducks.Like I said before, the ducks didn't seem too hungry, so when we threw the bread out and the ducks didn't take it, the fish would come up and grab it. There were a ton of fish. It was funny to see them all fighting for it. I tried to get a picture, but they wouldn't really stay at the surface very long, so this is the best I got.

Miracles DO Happen!

So my sweetheart of a husband, sent flowers to my work for our anniversary this year! I was so excited! I wasn't really expecting anything because we had planned a trip to St. George for our anniversary and had said that was all we were doing, no presents. So when I went to work that day, the last thing I expected to see sitting on my desk was flowers. (I had mentioned to Joe a while back that I missed the days when he used to give me flowers all the time, apparently he was listening!) This may sound lame, but I was so happy and surprised, that I actually started crying when I saw them! I was telling some girls I work with that if only guys knew how LITTLE they had to do to impress girls, they would be doing little things all the time! Just a small bouquet of roses was enough to make my whole day better, maybe even the whole week!!

I cannot believe it has already been 5 years! It has flown by and I have had such a good time! I cannot wait to see what the next 5 years bring!
