Christmas 2008

On Christmas Eve, we opened our Christmas pajama's. The boys all got Homer P.J.'s with matching slippers.
The girls just got matching P.J.'s. (Notice how the girls are more excited, even though they bought them and knew exactly what they were getting. MEN!!! :) )
Here they are all matching!! Studs!
And the girls. (Aly didn't match cuz it is impossible to find pajamas that fit a 2 year old and an adult!)

This was one of Aly's favorite presents. A big pillow Spongebob!!

She also liked this couch.

But the Jeep was probably her all time favorite. Too bad it is still too cold to take her outside and ride around it it.

Here we are in our new Christmas clothes.

These are Aly's presents. She has a couple of things that are not here, but this is the majority. She is obviously NOT spoiled!!! :)

And here are the few things Brianna got. Can you tell who I had more fun buying for? We'll see what happens next year when Brianna is actually here!

Shuler Christmas party

We had our Christmas Party for Joe's brother and sister's yesterday, December 23. Everyone came over and we had dinner, played games and opened presents.

The adults played X-box......
while the kids played in the playroom. (Except Aly. She had to be upstairs with me while I tried to get dinner done.)

Somehow for dinner, we all ended up sitting on the kitchen floor. There was a couch and chairs downstairs, but this is how it we ate! It was fun.

Then, after dinner, we opened presents. The kids all had fun as well as everyone else!

Gingerbread Houses

Yesterday, Saturday, December 6, my family got together to do gingerbread houses. I forgot to bring the camera, so I don't have pictures of us actually doing it, but here are some of the finished products.

This is Aly's. She had so much fun doing it. At first, she didn't want to do anything, but after we showed her how to do it she had a blast. We put the frosting on it and gave her a bucket of candy and just let her go. Some of it we showed her where to put it (like most of the candy on the house) but the rest of it was all her! I wish I would have had my camera, cuz she was having the best time. It was so cute!
This one was mine. I took so much time doing the roof, that by the time I got around to doing my yard, there wasn't much candy left, that is why it is kinda bare, but I like the way it turned out anyway. The snowman wouldn't stay up so that is why there is a toothpick in its back.

Ashlee's Wedding

Ashlee got married on November 22 to Jake Hansen. Here are some of the pictures from then.Aly was the flower girl and actually did a good job. She looked so cute walking down the aisle dropping flowers. I was the Maid of Honor as well.

They did a non-alcoholic toast before cutting the cake. The cutting of the cake got a little out of hand. It ended up with Ashlee on the floor with cake all over her, Jake with cake all over him (although not as bad as Ashlee) and his tux ripped as well.

Joe was the video man. He took video images throughout the day (and watched Aly for the most part)

Joe and Jake police photos

Here are some pictures of Joe and Jake in their uniforms with their cars.

Aly's first experience with curlers

We decided to try curlers in Aly's hair to see how it would look for Ashlee's wedding. I tried a curling iron, but she wouldn't let me touch her with it. She let me put the curlers in and didn't try to take them out until she got up in the morning.

It turned out pretty cute. I was kind of worried because she doesn't have a whole lot of hair, and it's short, so I thought it might not work, but it really looks cute. Plus another thing I realized is how much she looks like me when I was her age. I put a picture of me up with my hair like this so you could compare. I am about 2 or 3 in this picture so I look older and have more hair, but there is a resemblance.
Plus I couldn't get Aly to look at the camera. She was watching Toy Story and if I turned it off, she freaked.

Joe got the position!!

Joe tested for the Traffic Enforcement Unit at Summit County Sheriff's Office. There were 5 or 6 other people who also tested for it. Joe was their first choice and begins his new assignment on November 12th. He will now have a different schedule, get a new car, and have to go to some new training. He will work days, and have all Sunday's and holidays off. We are so excited for it. The only bad part is he has to respond on all fatal accidents, day or night, but he said that shouldn't be too often.

First snow of the season

Today there was about 3 or 4 inches of snow on the ground when we got up. Since Aly was too little to remember the snow from last year, it was a new thing to her. When I first opened the blinds this morning, she just stared out the window. She didn't know what to think. I took her to the door and gave her some in her hand. She loved it! Then later we took her outside to play in it. She had a blast and didn't want to come in even when her hands were frozen!

Fall is here!!

Aly loves playing in the leaves. She also loved running down this hill (if you don't see a hill, it's okay, its only a SLIGHT incline, but she loved it anyway) She also loved the stick in her hand. Can you believe how easily entertained kids can be?

Family Pictures 2008

We took our family pictures for our Christmas cards. Aly didn't sit still very long though. We only got a few that she wasn't crying or had her binkie in, and she wasn't smiling in ANY of them. So this is as good as we got. They still turned out pretty cute though.
